Student Attendance Grant

EURASEM (https://eurasem.org/) is proud to support the next generation of researchers by offering five competitive travel grants for undergraduate and graduate students. These grants are designed to facilitate student participation in the upcoming 22nd International Conference on Experimental Mechanics, to be held at the University of Palermo, Italy, on 6–9 July 2027.

Each recipient will receive a full waiver of the conference registration fee (at the regular rate).

To be considered for the grant, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Student Status: Currently enrolled at any Institution of Higher Education.
  • Authorship: Must be the first author of the submitted paper.
  • Acceptance: The paper must be formally accepted for the Conference Proceedings.
  • Presentation: Must attend the conference in person to present the paper.

The application must be submitted as a single PDF file containing the following documents:

  1. Abstract (1 page): Include the paper title, complete list of authors, and affiliations.
  2. Short Bio (1 page): A brief overview of your academic background, research interests, and publication list.
  3. Proof of Enrollment: A copy of the Applicant’s official University ID or University Trascripts.

Applications must be submitted via email to Dr. Danny Van Hemelrijck at Danny.Van.Hemelrijck@vub.be  on or before February 28th, 2027.

  • Subject Line: ICEM22 Submission for Travel Grant
  • File Naming Convention: [Abstract ID]_[Last Name] (e.g., ID0123_VAN HEMELRIJCK) Note: Use the Abstract ID generated by the Meteor Springer submission system.

Applications will be evaluated by an ad hoc selection committee, and winners will be notified on or before 2 April 2027. To ensure diverse representation, if more than five high-quality applications are received, the committee will award no more than one grant per university department.

We look forward to reviewing your application and seeing you in Palermo!
